Pants, Plants, and Beer

Travalon was so excited this morning because Wolverhampton won 3-0 over Leicester City in their first game with their new manager. (I forgot to mention that on Friday I was talking to Tiffy, and when I took a restroom break, Travalon said, "It's 20 to 3." I was confused for a moment, thinking he meant the time, and I thought, "Surely we haven't talked that long!" but he was referring to a college football game.) I felt rotten but dragged myself to Mass with him at the far east side church, and today the rock music was really grating on me, but the people there are so nice.

We had some errands to run today, and Travalon said it was, "Pants, plants, and beer," so I said that would be an excellent blog post title. We dropped some stuff off at Goodwill but didn't end up getting pants (though Travalon did get a pair yesterday morning), and then we ran to my office to water my work plants and print off Travalon's "Night Out" coupons, and then we went to the liquor store to buy good Wisconsin beer for my Colorado relatives, who love it and can't get it out there. It was a slightly warmer day today, so Travalon and I took a walk along the canal at Tenney Park, and we admired this railroad crossing on the bike path. It has shorter arms than a crossing on a road.

We kept hearing a train in the distance, so we waited to see if it would cross at this crossing, but it didn't seem to be getting any closer so we gave up and walked back to the car. On the way, we passed under this bridge.

We drove just to the spot near the Tenney jetty where we sometimes see swans... and we saw swans!!... and of course we heard the train pass by, but we couldn't see it, so it was probably at that crossing. Also, Travalon didn't have his good camera, so he took this photo of the swans among the geese with his cell phone.

He dropped me off at the Slow Irish Session, and then he went to the Wisco Bar, where they have a giant inflatable Santa.

Then we drove down to Stoughton to see their Christmas light display. We both took some photos.

In town we saw this old building with beautifully decorated windows, so I took a photo.

That wasn't the best angle, but the ideal spot would have been in the middle of the street. I did take a photo of the windows reflected in windows across the street.

And we saw this highly decorated house in a neighborhood right near ours.

Now I am mostly packed, but there is a lot of stuff I can't pack before tomorrow morning. I hope that I don't forget anything, and that I can actually sleep for the first time in days tonight. So sick of being sick!
