Chancellor's Farewell Party and So Many Meetings

Today I worked on campus, and only my coworker who is going to be a grandpa was around, so we chatted a bit. Then the colleague who has been helping me out came to my office, and we chatted a bit. She seems very eager to do my work, which is fine with me, since I'll be out all next week so she can feel free to go nuts. She said she couldn't help me the week after that, but I have no big plans to be gone then. She and I walked at lunch, and then all us financial types had to be in a meeting. After that I couldn't convince my colleague, my coworker, or Hardingfele to join me at the farewell party for our Chancellor. People came up to greet her, and she would give them a hug, and someone would take a photo of them. But when I came up to her, nobody offered to take our photo, and she didn't seem too enthused to see me. Maybe it's just as well that nobody took our photo, since I was wearing pink and she was wearing bright red. I cheered up a bit when a balloon artist made me a seahorse.

The next person in line asked for a peace sign, and the balloon artist said he couldn't do that. The person before me got a butterfly. I also had ice cream (Mnookie Dough, named after the Chancellor) and a cookie that looked like her.

Meanwhile, the anniversary present I'd ordered for Travalon came - a jaguar he is naming Felinja, if that is how you spell it. He pronounces it like Felleenya. He was really pleased with her.

This evening I was in three Zoom calls in a row. The first was our monthly Union meeting, then there was a leftist group where I appeared to be the only one over thirty (and I'm WAAAY over thirty). Two of them said they had met me at the May Day protest, and I was thinking the leader did look very familiar, but then I realized she looks just like Tiffy's oldest niece. However, she has the same name as Tiffy's other niece, the oldest one's sister who doesn't look anything like her. How crazy is that?? And then of course I was on Night Prayer, like every night when I am home and not talking to Tiffy.

This morning I got a very special DuoLingo sticker:

Travalon responded with this old photo of Julie Andrews singing about "the lusty month of May" in Camelot:

And, since it's a day ending in Y, Travalon has more wood duck photos for us. There are also mallards, a green heron, and great blue heron, but today no female wood ducks.

Maybe the female wood ducks are all nesting. I have seen some fantastic photos of when the baby wood ducks jump out of the nesting box into the water. That is a thing I'd love to see in real life.
