Walking with Anna Banana II and Jilly Moose

Sorry for the silence yesterday. Travalon and I joined Anna Banana II, Jilly Moose, and Richard Bonomo at Ancora Coffee to try their lemon lavender donuts (although Rich had a chocolate peanut butter one and Travalon had a scone), then Cali joined us and we took a walk along the Yahara. We saw lots of birds.

Travalon, Cali, and I were lagging behind the others, and Travalon was playing "Gimme Shelter" by the Rolling Stones on his phone. We saw a pair of ducks that appeared to be dancing to the music, because they would alternately bob their heads in time to the beat. I was about to make a video of it because it was so cute, but suddenly the action got a lot hotter, and I didn't want to make a duck porno video. Then we all went to the chocolate shop that was closed last time because they were out of inventory after Valentine's Day, but this time they were closed because they are working on stock for Easter. Will we ever be able to buy chocolate?

Then Travalon, Anna Banana II, Jilly Moose, and I went for a walk at Vilas Park. We took the path behind Edgewood College, and on the way back to our cars, we prayed the rosary. I said it felt like we had gone about six miles that day, so I checked my FitBit just as we got back to our car, and I had walked 5.98 miles. So yeah. In the evening we all went to Rich's house, along with OK Cap, for dinner. As the night wore on, nine should have felt like eight because of the time change, but instead it felt like ten. I did Night Prayer at Rich's house, and then we headed home.

This morning we did finally get to Mass and brunch downtown. It has been weeks! Then Travalon and I took a walk at Jackson's Landing, not far from our house, and so many birds were singing!

When Jilly Moose and Anna Banana II asked if there were any good places to hike near me, I took them to Jackson's Landing, so I hiked it twice today. The weather was so beautiful. We went out on a boardwalk, and one of my neighbors ran into us there. Then the ladies wanted to hike some more, so I suggested Governor's Island, but I decided not to join them in order to take part in our family Zoom meeting. Also, it's a short loop (a mile, just like Jackson's Landing), but I was still a little concerned that somehow we would run short on time and I would be late for Irish class. We really got a lot of speaking practice, so I would have hated to miss that. Now Travalon is watching basketball, because it's March Madness. The Badgers did lose this afternoon, but at least they won their first game in the tournament. From the season they had, I wasn't sure they would even make it into the tournament!
