Photos from Travalon's Good Camera: Nassau

Yesterday while we were at the basketball game, it occurred to me that I had forgotten to water the aloe vera in the TA office, and that I might have left my little succulent on the heat vent in my office, so I'd have to go in today to check. But then a coworker messaged me to thank me for the gift I'd left, so I knew she was in, and she was able to take care of both plants. Since I worked from home, I only had to leave to walk in the neighborhood, enjoying the unseasonably mild weather. There was a singalong at the music club tonight, but I didn't feel like leaving the house.

As promised, I am going to post photos from Travalon's good camera that I couldn't post during the cruise because of connectivity issues. But first, here is a video of me singing with a gospel choir from the National Museum of African American Music. See if you can spot the white woman who doesn't have the right moves.

Here are photos of Nassau at sunrise, as we were arriving.

You can tell Travalon is a better photographer than I am, because his photo of me is not bad, but mine of him is so dark that you can't really tell who he is.

This is the Parliament Building with a Christmas tree in front of it.

This hotel is named after a Jimmy Buffett song.

I just love the colorful buildings!

Here are a couple of photos through the glass bottom of the boat we took for our excursion.

Travalon took a lot of photos of mansions too, but those don't interest me as much. Big houses look the same everywhere. I did like this person's yard.

That might look like a walkway at the Atlantic Resort, but it's a private suite.

The flag is yellow for the sunshine in the Bahamas, aquamarine for the water, and black for the people.

Some art we saw in a bank that was hosting an exhibition of native artists.

And here is a video of the lights going up and down in a bar on the water that we went to.

Tomorrow I will probably post photos of Puerto Rico, and our first at-sea day, if Travalon took any then.
