Cruise 2025, Day 2: Nassau

Bear with me as I blog on my phone. I can only add a limited number of photos, so more will be forthcoming.

This morning we awoke at dawn and saw we were arriving in Nassau.

We quickly ate breakfast and got off the ship for our excursion on a glass-bottomed boat. We saw lots of beautiful fish and coral. Here I am, loving being on a boat.

When the ride was over, we had lunch at a place that served cracked conch and guava duff, only we had dessert first because the conch took longer. Check out our drinks!

We tried chocolate and rum cake and went to the Junkadoo Museum. So many cool photos. Here’s one.

Then we went to a bar on the water with these cool lights that slowly went up and down.

We went up to the Parliament building (photos soon) but couldn’t get in, so we walked down another street and found a free art gallery.

They didn’t have a restroom, but they said there was one across the street, where we discovered a coffee shop with a very friendly barista. I solved the riddle she had posted (sorry, too long, I remember the answer but not the question) so she gave us free beet shots. Travalon actually liked his, and he doesn’t like beets.

On the way back to the ship we acquired a stuffy. Here is Bimini the Cat with Chomp the Gator and Riptide the shark.

Oh yeah, when we first got off the boat, we went to the Straw Market and got T-shirts and jewelry. Photos soon.

Back on the ship we went to find the observation deck and discovered the art studio, where people were making Christmas cards. I took photos of our handiwork, but for some reason they’re sideways, and I can’t turn them like I can on the computer. Then we found a place to watch the ocean, and they were having a contest for different groups who work on the ship where you could vote for your favorite tree. Here are the one I voted for and the one I would have voted for if I’d seen it before voting.

Travalon took more photos of the gingerbread village.

We did music trivia and didn’t win but came close, then we listened to the house band play classic R&B, take a break, and then play 80’s hits. We had late-night pizza on the back deck and sampled the late-night buffet. Tomorrow is a sea day, so we’ll really check out the whole ship.
