A Not at My Desk Kind of Day

Today I felt like I was hardly at my desk, although I got a lot done. Seabird and another person from FART 5 walked with me in the morning, then I gave blood, and then Seabird and I went to see her possible new office. It was on the fourth floor of another building, and the elevator only goes up to the third floor. You have to take a scary staircase to the fourth floor, and then there's no bathroom up there, just a drinking fountain with no filter. However, the view from up there is beautiful. Seabird looked at it and said she would probably just stay in my building. She's in a different FART now, but our boss doesn't care if she keeps sitting in the FART 5 office. She wants to be close to the other woman we walked with, who knows everything. We are always all asking her for help. Then in the afternoon I walked with Hardingfele. I was even going to go to Irish conversation, but I was starting to feel a bit run down after the blood donation.

When Travalon came home, the two of us went to the North Street Cabaret to see a band that was playing as part of Klez Fest, but they were very weird and not traditional klezmer at all. Also, the place was packed and like 100 degrees F in there. We left, and when we got back in the car, Travalon put on traditional klezmer music. Did you know "And the Angels Sing" by Bennie Goodman is based on a song called "Der Shtiler Bulgar"? I must like bulgars, which are a type of dance music, because my band plays a song called "Odessa Bulgar" and it's like my favorite thing ever.

I forgot to post this photo Travalon sent me from work yesterday. They were in a blacklight bowling alley!

Here are some photos he took from Grandad's Bluff when he was in La Crosse on Saturday.

This photo looks like a model railroad!

I remember seeing this church from Grandad's Bluff when I was there with Anna Banana II and Jilly Moose.

An internet search seems to indicate that it is St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Stay tuned - I have lots more photos from Travalon!
