Apparently Mother Nature looked at the calendar and said, "It's December? Time for winter!" because this morning was so cold, and there was snow on the ground. When my colleague and I walked by the Union Terrace, this is what we saw:
Here are some photos from Travalon's good camera. First, Christmas lights we saw on Thursday night.
These photos are the Endres Manufacturing Plant in Waunakee:
These next photos are from the Waunakee Rotary Lights. They seem to have some of the characters from "The Twelve Days of Christmas," but we didn't see all of them.
Here are photos Travalon took of the bank of clouds we saw to the north that we thought could possibly be a fata morgana of distant hills over the horizon being projected above the horizon so they looked like mountains. I'm pretty sure they were clouds, and they were there the whole trip home. Just as the sun was setting, there was a silver line along their top edge - wish we could have gotten a photo of that.
What time is it? Time for some end-of-the-year DuoLingo bragging!
That last one seems especially ominous. Safe... for now?? What is Duo the Green Owl going to do to me that he isn't already doing, which is pestering me every five minutes to do DuoLingo?
