Holy Hill and the Moose Cafe

This morning Anna Banana II and Jilly Moose came to pick me up, and we met Prairie Man walking Hachi the Very Good Boy, only now his name is Rafi. Then we went to Zippy Lube for coffee and donuts before hitting the road to head to Holy Hill. Here are some photos. Jilly Moose took the first two.

This is downtown Milwaukee in the distance. Her phone can really zoom in!

These next photos are from the upper church.

I lit a candle for Travalon's mom, since Holy Hill was one of her favorite places.

This is the light from the stain glass windows cast on the floor.

This is the St. Theresa Chapel on the middle level.

Then we went to the gift shop, and I got a Franciscan rosary necklace made by religious sisters in Ecuador (sorry, no photo yet), and I also got Jilly Moose a one-decade rosary to repay her for money that I owed her, and I got Anna Banana II an Infant of Prague chaplet since she has a devotion to him. It's for her birthday, which isn't for two months, but I won't see her then.

We had lunch at the Holy Hill Cafe, then we drove back to Madison and stopped at the petting zoo and general store in Ixonia. We got some beverages at the Moose Cafe; Jilly Moose and I got the lavender mint latte, and Anna Banana II tried the golden milk. Here are photos.

We saw goats (including a cute little calico one) and a tiny pony and some very wooly creatures, both sheep and an alpaca. We saw the peacock, but he wasn't displaying... until we asked him to.

So accommodating of him!

Back home I took a walk with my neighbor before an event at my church this evening. I have the secret code to the back gate of the parking lot, and it has been working for me, but Jilly Moose called while I was on the walk because it wasn't working for them. I left to see what was going on... and it didn't work for me either. Had they changed the code? I called Richard Bonomo, who came over and discovered someone had sabotaged the gate - they had cut a wire. Rich wasn't able to actually fix it, but he was able to get the gate open. Then on the way home I was passed by not one, not two, but four emergency vehicles. I moved over like a good citizen and then was a bit dismayed that the people behind me didn't let me back in - I had to wait for a break in the traffic. No good deed goes unpunished, it seems. But even if some of the events of this evening were a bit annoying, the rest of the day was wonderful.
