Time to Build an Ark?

It rained all day today. One thing about this year, a lot of my blog posts contain the label "weather," but today really earned it. Travalon and I went to Mass in the gym for Trinity Sunday, then we got on the road and drove through the steady rain to Stevens Point. We decided to go to the antiques mall to wait out the rain, and the dealer who always has Catholic stuff had plenty of rosaries today. I got some.

From left to right: a purple rosary with a blue crucifix containing Lourdes water, a small purple rosary, a glow-in-the-dark rosary that cost almost nothing, a small dark blue rosary, and a wooden rosary that looks like it used to contain a Stanhope window but now just has a hole in the cross. None of these rosaries cost very much so that's why I bought so many. Then I didn't know where Travalon was, so as I wandered around looking for him, a case full of crystals caught my attention. I ended up getting (don't read this part, Jilly Moose) a colorful little mushroom pendant and a peach selenite crystal with a hamsa carved into it.

The peach color of the selenite is prettier in real life than in this photo, though maybe it's just a bad background color for it.

We thought the rain was going to let up around four, so we drove to the George W. Mead State Wildlife Area just north of town, but it was still raining when we got there, and our weather apps had updated the forecast to say it would rain until ten. By then I was very tired of being in a car and just wanted some exercise, so we checked into our hotel and went to the workout room, which had one treadmill, one elliptical machine, one stationary bike, and an exercise ball. The elliptical machine seemed to be out of order, so I took the treadmill and Travalon took the stationary bike, and he played tunes for us on his phone as we spent twenty minutes working out. Then we went into the very small but not cold pool to swim for another twenty minutes, and after that I was very tired but in the best way. We showered, relaxed for a bit, and then went to a nearby Japanese restaurant that was really affordable yet very tasty. Travalon got a dinner special that included two pieces of sushi, so I ate those along with my seafood yaki udon. I am trying to cut down on carbs, but I cannot resist fat noodles. Tomorrow I'll be better. Then Travalon checked out a local dive bar while I did Night Prayer, and now we are ready for bed at what is a very early hour for us. This way we can get up tomorrow and see birds... hopefully. Despite the rain, I did see a cormorant flying and a crane standing in a field as we drove back from the preserve, and Travalon said he saw some pelicans in a pond. He brought his good camera, so hopefully tomorrow he can use it.
