Second in a series.
I had a roommate in college who came home one day and said, “You
will never believe what just happened to me!” She had been biking along when a
car suddenly swerved and almost hit a scooter, so the scooter swerved to get
out of the car’s way – and hit her. She went flying off the bike and landed
right on her arm. My response: “Weren’t you embarrassed?” Yes, really. All I
could think is how embarrassed I would have been. She said, “No, I just hoped I
didn’t break my arm!” But her arm was fine, as was the rest of her.
