Rosary Energy

The following is a true story: Luxuli, OK Cap, and I took a stroll in a public garden and sat on a bench tucked away in a corner to pray the rosary. We didn’t want to be in your face about it or anything, but it was such a lovely place to pray. Most people ignored us, since we were praying very quietly, but a couple of older women sat down on a bench near ours and loudly began discussing religious matters. I was trying not to pay too much attention, but I did hear them discuss being more “spiritual than religious,” and something about the Christian Right. I wasn’t sure if this was a coincidence or if they had decided to comment on our praying in public, but we just continued to pray until finishing the rosary. At that point one woman said to the other, “Let’s go – the energy has changed.” I’m not sure if she meant there was a positive energy coming from us as we prayed, or if she just figured we would now focus on their possibly unfriendly conversation rather than our prayers, but they got up and left quickly. Strange…

Very tactless on their part. There are plenty of benches. Dont like it, dont sit there.

No kidding, but I guess they wanted us to hear their deep thoughts on how religion is overrated.
