Watch Out for the Leak Wink

This morning Travalon and I went to the closer Mass so we could hit the road and meet Tiffy in Milwaukee at noon. We went to the Caribbean restaurant in West Allis again for lunch, and there were some decorated benches in the neighborhood. This was my favorite.

We got some coffee (and tea) before the early music concert at the same beautiful chapel. This one was old Christmas carols from the British Isles, France, and Germany. The group was the Boston Consort, and a couple of them were going to play the crumhorn, so Tiffy and I were all excited about the "Beesinjarren." This is a very old joke from when we were listening to a "Terpsichore" CD of hers more than two decades ago, and all the writing on it was in German so we weren't sure what the instrumentation was. She wondered what the buzzy instrument was, and I said, "Beesinjarren," and later we found out it was the crumhorn. The group today had a soprano who we could barely hear, a lute player I once took classes from at the Early Music Festival, a guy playing a cittern that looked like a mandolin, and some other viol and recorder players. I really love the tunes to those old Christmas carols.

Meanwhile, Travalon went to the casino in Milwaukee to check out the brewery founded by a couple of members of Kiss. We headed home right after the concert, and he said he had to stop urgently at Lapham Peak to use the restroom. Since we were in Delafield, I said we should try to find the beautifully decorated neighborhood we always see from the freeway. It wasn't too difficult to find. Here's a shot which is kind of what you see from the freeway.

And here are closeups of the three houses.

And here is another decorated house we saw on the way there and back.

I don't have a clever title for this blog post, but at lunch I was saying something about the "leak wink," and while neither Tiffy nor Travalon reacted, I was like, "Wait, that isn't right, is it? I meant the weak link!" I was just surprised that my malapropism resulted in two actual words. So watch out for the leak wink!
