Photos of Utah: Goblins and Arches

First I would like to note that I just ate some fresh huitlacoche from Rich's garden, so if I suddenly stop blogging, you'll know that my fungus identification skills are lacking. Anyway, it was delicious.

Here are some more photos of Utah.

Goblin State Park

The small rock formations are called goblins. It was fun to hang out with a rock formation that was Famous Hat-sized!

Arches National Park

The Three Gossips

Balanced Rock

Delicate Arch

I don't know the name of this formation, but it reminds me of a Masai warrior.

Two views of Double Arches

Pinnacle Arch

North and South Window

Sand Dune Arch

Broken Arch

Here are some shots of the desert so you can see how green it was after the rain, and some close-ups of desert plants... and a big black bug!

Don't you hate having to wait for all the hula hoopers to cross?

And finally, one last awesome rock formation. I do not know the name of this one either.

I have lots more photos! Check back tomorrow to see some more.

Light Bright tells me that the bug is a stink bug, and that it sprays from its back end just like a skunk.

The hula hooper sign has to do with the musical group Widespread Panic - they used to have merchandise with the hula hoop walking man sign. Needless to say, people all over still draw the hoops on signs.
